Privacy Policy
This policy explains how EdgeSoftwares ("we", "us") handles information in the EdgeSoftwares mobile app (the "App") and at edgesoftwares.com (the "Website"). EdgeSoftwares is an offline-first field service management app for repair and maintenance businesses.
Information we collect
Account information. Your name, email address, phone number, business name and a hashed password when you register, or when an owner creates a technician login.
Business data you enter. Customers (names, phone numbers, addresses), devices, service jobs and checklists, spare parts and stock, invoices, payments, warranties, AMC contracts, reminders and business settings. This data belongs to you. We store it only to provide the service.
Photos and files. Images you attach to records (for example job photos or logos) are uploaded to your account if you use sync or backup.
Subscription information. If you subscribe through Google Play, we receive purchase tokens and subscription status from Google Play to unlock features. We do not receive or store your card or payment details.
Technical data. Our servers keep standard logs (IP address, request time, device/app version) for security, abuse prevention and rate limiting.
How we use information
- To run the App: authentication, syncing your data between devices, and backup and restore.
- To verify your subscription status.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To contact you about your account or service changes.
We do not sell your data, do not use it for advertising, and do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Where your data lives
The App works offline and stores your data on your device. Data is sent to our server only when you sign in and sync or back up. It is transmitted over HTTPS.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers needed to operate the service (such as hosting) and Google Play for subscription verification, or when required by law. Your customers' data is visible only to the business owner and technicians you authorise.
Permissions
- Internet access: to sync and back up.
- Camera / photos (if used): only when you choose to attach a picture to a record.
- Notifications (if used): for reminders you set.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can export a full backup at any time from your account page.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the App, or at edgesoftwares.com/account (sign in, then "Delete my account"). If you cannot sign in, request deletion without a password at edgesoftwares.com/delete-account: we email a confirmation link to your account email. An owner's deletion removes the entire business, including its data, uploaded files and technician logins. A technician's deletion removes only their own login. Deleted data is removed from our servers; backups made by us are overwritten on our regular rotation.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data through the App and Website. For anything you cannot do yourself, contact us and we will help.
Security
Passwords are stored hashed, access uses short-lived tokens, and media is available only to authenticated owners. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password.
Children
The App is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the App or by email.
